Frequently Asked Questions
What is Outbuild construction RFI software?
Outbuild turns RFIs into Roadblocks inside the Lookahead so the team treats open questions as potential delays, not background noise. Whether you use Procore or Autodesk, RFIs sync automatically into Outbuild as Roadblocks the moment they're created, so you can evaluate the impact and decide if they should be tied to a Lookahead task.
How does the Procore and Autodesk RFI sync work?
Both integrations bring RFIs into Outbuild automatically.
With the Procore integration, RFIs created in Procore are pulled into Outbuild as draft roadblocks. From there, your team can open the RFI directly, connect it to the right Lookahead task, and track it in both the Roadblocks log and the Lookahead plan. When the RFI closes in Procore, Outbuild automatically updates the Roadblock to resolved.
With Autodesk, RFIs created in Autodesk Forma are automatically pushed into Outbuild as Roadblocks. From there, you link them to the Lookahead tasks they're affecting, giving your team full visibility into what's at risk and who needs to take action — all in context of the schedule.
What does it mean when an RFI becomes a Roadblock?
A roadblock is any potential delay the team identifies early. The moment an RFI is created— whether in Procore or Autodesk — Outbuild flags it as a in the Roadblock feature so the team can get eyes on it, assign ownership, and drive it to resolution before it hits production. The goal is simple: surface the issue early, bring it to the team's attention, and keep work moving.
How does Outbuild help reduce RFI-driven delays?
Outbuild makes RFIs hard to ignore. Whether they come in from Procore or Autodesk, they show up as Roadblocks in the Lookahead, linked to the exact RFI and connected to the work at risk. That keeps the conversation focused on what will delay crews. It also reinforces the right behavior: when someone raises a roadblock early, the team sees it, talks about it, and acts on it.
Who gets the most value from this?
Superintendents get RFIs surfaced in the Lookahead where they plan and remove constraints. PMs get faster follow-up and clearer ownership tied to upcoming work. The full team benefits because every roadblock signals people are looking ahead and speaking up about risks early, which improves coordination and outcomes.
