Frequently Asked Questions
What is Outbuild construction RFI software?
Outbuild turns RFIs into roadblocks inside the Lookahead so the team treats open questions as potential delays, not background noise. When an RFI is created in Procore on a connected project, Outbuild automatically creates a draft roadblock so you can evaluate the impact and decide if it should be tied to the Lookahead plan.
How does the Procore RFI sync work?
First, create an RFI in Procore. Outbuild pulls it in automatically as a draft roadblock. From there, you can open the RFI quickly through the Procore link, connect it to a Lookahead task, and track it in the Roadblocks tool and on the Lookahead Gantt. When the RFI closes in Procore, Outbuild updates the roadblock to a “removed” status.
What does it mean when an RFI becomes a roadblock?
A roadblock is any potential delay the team identifies early. The moment an RFI hits Procore, Outbuild flags it as a draft roadblock so the team can get eyes on it, assign ownership, and target it before it hits production. The goal is simple: identify the issue early, bring it to the team’s attention, and drive it to resolution.
Do we still need an RFI spreadsheet or separate tracker?
No. Procore stays the system of record for RFIs. Outbuild is where the team runs follow-up in the Lookahead, with the RFI visible as a roadblock, tied to tasks, with status updates and clear accountability.
How does Outbuild help reduce RFI-driven delays?
Outbuild makes RFIs hard to ignore. They show up as roadblocks in the Lookahead, link to the exact Procore RFI, and connect to the work at risk. That keeps the conversation focused on what will delay crews, not what is sitting in a log. It also reinforces the right behavior. When someone raises a roadblock early, the team sees it, talks about it, and acts on it.
Who gets the most value from this?
Superintendents get RFIs surfaced in the Lookahead where they plan and remove constraints. PMs get faster follow-up and clearer ownership tied to upcoming work. The full team benefits because every roadblock signals people are looking ahead and speaking up about risks early, which improves coordination and outcomes.
