New Trimble ProjectSight integration

We're announcing a new partnership with Trimble ProjectSight, one of construction’s most widely used project management platforms.

Critical documents managed in ProjectSight can now sync to Outbuild scheduling tools, including submittals, RFIs and drawings. Critical dates, context and statuses flow between both platforms in real time, meaning teams and partners are always viewing the right documentation, in the context of when work is scheduled to start.

Here's what each part of the integration covers.

Submittals created in ProjectSight sync over to Outbuild automatically. They show up in Outbuild’s Submittal feature in draft status, ready to link to applicable schedule activities.

When you link one of those submittals to a schedule activity (or activities), it becomes visible on the schedule, and a submittal history is generated with the associated activity. Importantly, Outbuild also recalculates the required submittal dates based on when that activity is actually scheduled to start, and then syncs those dates back to ProjectSight.

Schedules will always shift. But now, with the ProjectSight integration, your required submittal dates will move with them in both systems, and nobody's reconciling anything by hand. If you have lead times configured in ProjectSight, those get factored in too.

RFIs from ProjectSight automatically flow into Outbuild as Roadblocks.

The Outbuild Roadblock feature is used for logging issues in the field, on the iPad or mobile app, which could hold up work if they don't get addressed. Roadblocks are always associated with a task or tasks, and have a responsible person assigned to ensure the question or issue is actioned.

ProjectSight RFIs sync to the Outbuild Roadblock feature with the RFI question and status, so your team can see what's being asked and determine which Lookahead tasks are at risk. Then, users can link the RFI to a task or tasks to ensure it shows up on the Lookahead — whether that’s on the desktop, the iPad app, or on a Lookahead PDF. RFIs are no longer just in a queue or buried in inboxes; instead, your team sees these against planned tasks and committed work.

Drawings managed in ProjectSight are now available within Outbuild, automatically updated to their current versions, so you can easily attach them to tasks on the Lookahead.

Once they're attached, they’re available on the Lookahead task card — in the field or office. A superintendent can open the task on the iPad App and view or download the current version on site. And, your office sees the same thing on the Lookahead on desktop. Everyone's working off the same version, helping avoid rework.
